MONTHLY MARKETING Q & A WITH KFM!
In February, we invited people to start sending in their marketing and event questions to Karran Finlay Marketing (KFM). We received some great questions and are happy to share one today on Sustainable Marketing.
QUESTION: WHAT IS SUSTAINABLE MARKETING?
Good question, and not a simple one to answer. This can mean many things, such as building marketing tools and programs that ensure sustained financial stability. It’s important for any business to do this, however, KFM also incorporates environmental sustainability practices into work standards – so we’ll answer in this direction.
Sustainable Marketing refers to leveraging traditional marketing tactics, but doing so with a conscious effort to protect the environment. For example, researching FSC certified or recycled materials for marketing brochures, mailers, and posters. This is easy to do if you remember to do it – and, no, it doesn’t cost more. Other efforts can be viral web campaigns rather than in-home or in-store promotional campaigns that use a lot of hard materials. Web campaigns can often reach more people with fewer dollars.
Sustainable Marketing can also mean marketing based on promoting the environmental attributes of a product or service or simply the marketing of a “green” product.
